In fact, Anderson has admitted that he had the setting for his film before he had a screenplay. the location for this picture could not have been better, as this structure, apparently, is actually considered haunted. Session 9 is a highly atmospheric suspense yarn with a strong sense of place. David Caruso, of mostly TV drama fame, headlines this troupe of talented actors through a miriad of twists and turns, and creepy segments, which leave you guessing, and second guessing yourself throughout. shot in an abanodoned mental hospital, this tale is one of an asbestos removal crew, hired to make this old structure safe for possible sale or re-use. although it was released on DVD and VHS, very few rental locations hyped it, or even stocked it, for that matter. this picture, i belive, was a made for HBO picture, so was not widely received, or viewed by anyone outside of HBO subscribers. if you have not seen this picture, then you are truly missing out on a horror/suspense masterpiece.
